Vibram FiveFingers: KSO Trek

$125.00 Released January, 2009

Product Shot 1 The Pros:Most durable FiveFingers to date - leather won't snag and tear like on previous models. Added tread is a big bonus on muddy, grassy, and other slippery surfaces. Machine-washable.

The Cons:The added tread provides more tractions but they also tracks more dirt than the original KSO. Un-available in smaller / womens sizes. Takes time to get used to them.

The rugged cousin to the Vibram FiveFingers KSO, the Trek is built to stand up to tougher useage with tear-resistant and breatheable kangaroo leather uppers and a thicker, lightly cleated sole to provide increased traction for outdoor terrain.

Product Shot 2  Though the leather breathes well and does not retain water, the KSO Trek is not waterproof.  Intended for light trekking, trail running, and travel, the Trek is available in two colors in men's sizes only for now.

In late Spring Vibram will be releasing a Five Fingers KSO Trek for women.  As for uses, though some run marathon trail races in Vibram KSO Treks, others wear the Five Fingers KSO Trek to work.

In Fall/Winter 2010/2011, Vibram will be releasing a Sport Trek that uses alternative materials to kangaroo leather for the upper.

Howlsthunder: #vibram_fivefingers_kso_trek I am eager to try a pair of these. I wear my KSOs everywhere, both indoors and out, and the one thing I don't like is how they have NO traction in slick mud. Great traction on just about everything else. It looks like the tread in the design of the Treks will take care of this problem and the leather uppers, though a shame to get them dirty, will withstand much greater wear and tear.

And ladies like me - do not fear! Vibrams announced on their Facebook feed that womens sizes and colors can be expected later this year. Apr 14, 10
