Asics' GEL-Kanbarra 4 is an entry-level men's shoe designed for running. It is supposed to be comfortable and have decent upper-foot support. It has a gel cushioning system below the insole that is supposed to provide shock attenuation throughout the entire step, as well as a separate heel plug that helps absorb the harder shock of impact.

The midsole is made of compressed ethyl-vinyl acetate, which is supposed to increase the shoes' comfort, and it also uses Asics "Trusstic" feature, which is supposed to support the middle and arch region of the foot, as well as prevent the mid-foot from rolling too far inward. The GEL-Kanbarra 4 is also available in a variety of different widths and has a rubber outsole.
